We see this regularly with actors, celebrities and public figures who appear to be totally self-confident when in the limelight but who seem to have quite poor self-esteem off stage or away from the media!
"I was very impressed by the structure and content of your course. I felt the details were extremely thorough, none of us were left unattended and it was reassuring to be supervised throughout the weekend. No question or query was a problem or issue, everything was answered with confidence.
It was coordinated very well and a great deal of 'behind the scenes' work was included in it. I was particularly grateful for..."
If your self-esteem is low you may feel overly tired or have little motivation to get on with things. You maybe feeling bored with life or feeling you don't have much to look forward to can also be a sign of low self esteem. Do you spend most of your time thinking about yourself and wishing your life was better? Or find yourself thinking negatively about your abilities and possible opportunities; this can also lead you to feeling like a failure or feeling hopeless and depressed, thus completing a vicious circle that leads to low or sometimes even no self worth.
Low self esteem is more common in today's society than we think. These days we have so much more to live up too, life is far faster paced than it used to be 20-30 years ago, as a society we are expected to do so much more with our lives, we are constantly being pushed to achieve more and more. Now this can be a great motivator, but if things haven't worked out how you would like them to, your beliefs of self worth can take a real battering. This can be the case in all areas of life, if we don't have the 'right' career, live in the best location, have the perfect relationship, or how about your body? Everyday we are influenced by the media about how much we should weigh, what dress size is acceptable, I could go on and on!
So what can we do about it I hear you cry?
"I don't know how much I have released as I am no longer weighing myself but I have definitely noticed a huge difference physically. My husband keeps saying how much weight I have lost. I feel I look very different when I look in the mirror, both in face and body. I just don't eat as much; my body just doesn't want it. I put less on my plate and am eating a lot less in general. There just isn't the battle in my head anymore, I feel everything is in..."
First we need to identify when your self-esteem took a dive, from there we can find out what beliefs are associated with your lack of self worth. Are you even worthy of a high level of self worth? Yes, we all are! Once we have given you all the positive programming to uphold your new belief system, I then show you how you can maintain it.
Why not have a go now!
Spend a minute thinking about the last time you felt good about yourself. Once you have that clear in your mind, feel it in every cell of your body, from the top of your head to the tips of your toes. Remember what if felt like, how you moved; what the world looked like, sounds like and smelt like. Then turn up the volume on all of those feelings. Allow yourself to remember this high definition version of yourself and SMILE. Congratulations, you are now one step closer to feeling like that every day…
