Hypno-CBT is such a successful and powerful treatment due to the combination of science, philosophy, and Hypnotherapy. These aspects combine into a comprehensive approach that helps the client understand and overcome common psychological problems. These problems might include: addiction; anger problems; anxiety; body dimorphic disorder; chronic fatigue syndrome; chronic pain; depression; eating disorders; obsessive-compulsive disorder; panic attacks; personality disorders; phobias; Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD); relationship problems; and many more.
Hypno-CBT draws on science not only because both Hypnotherapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) have been extensively tested and developed through numerous studies, but also because they encourage clients to become more like sciences themselves, encouraging them to take a more logical approach to the challenges that present themselves throughout life, as well as offering the benefits of positive suggestion and relaxation.

People hold values and beliefs about themselves, the world, and other people. With the use of Hypno-CBT, I aim to help clients develop flexible, non-extreme, and self-helping beliefs that assist them to adapt to reality and pursue their goals. Not all problems are in your mind. However, your thoughts and behaviour are powerful areas to target for change and development and Hypno-CBT helps you place both of these within a context and recognises that you're influenced by what's going on around you. Your environment makes a contribution to the way you think, feel and act. Using Hypno-CBT you can make a difference to the way that you feel by changing unhelpful ways of thinking and behaving.
When using the model of Hypno-CBT, there is a huge emphasis on behaviour. Many of the techniques that I use involve changing the way you think and feel by modifying the way you behave. For instance, if you have been suffering from lethargy and depression, including regular small amounts of activity into your daily routine will encourage the production of feel-good chemicals (such as serotonin) in the brain, which in turn will help raise energy levels and ease depression. Or slowly facing your fears step by step, if you are anxious, will not only lead to less anxiety, but will also give the feeling of self empowerment.
